It is very relaxing most of the time, though the AI has it's moments where it becomes frustrating. It's not the most accurate sim, or fair either if you have detours on. You have more exits and roads in real life and in ETS2 while this game has fewer options. But it is still fun, and you can turn off detours. I play with a Steam controller so I am missing a lot of buttons like drop axle and retarder and whatnot, I have them set to auto. I still have functions like shifting, parking brake, diff lock, the more fun or important things to have bound. And that's what it's about, fun. You can customize and turn off a lot of things. You never have to park a trailer yourself if you don't want to.Turn off traffic offenses, rain, detours etc.Devs are constantly working on content to add, though work is slow due to licensing and the quality.Only real complaint is how the torque\/hp works in this game. They SEVERELY underestimate how much pulling power these trucks have. I have my transmission selected properly for towing heavy loads but there are times you have to slow to a crawl on a main highway, like 25mph or slower and downshift constantly to avoid stalling, with a 2150ft lb torque engine. Even if you stay at the RPM where the "Peak torque" is supposedly, doesn't help at all.. Took a load to Cali, got cut off and break checked by a prius pushed him into a cop car, nice heafty fine and repair bill..YUP it's a true sim alright, they nailed Cali drivers.Took out a loan, upgraded garage, bought (2) W900 Day Cabs, hired a driver that slept most of the time, fired her\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665 hired a habeeb, fired him far from Bakersfield, just cause I can... New driver making me $$ now, while I focus on all Hazmat, high value loads, paying off loan and leveling so I can buy a sleeper.. FYI Day Cab sleeping OTR sucks, highly rec. an automatic, as the gear shifter can pose a potential embarrassing waking moment..Fun chill game, why I play this I'm not sure, as it's like coming home from work, just to drive more.. hmmm, wonder if my RL log books needs to reflect the in-game hours :DAll thats missing are the slow SWIFT drivers, lot lizards and trucker gut meals..8\/10 -- Would rate higher, but setting up my TM T-150 wheel pedals was a major pain. mods make the game more fun, colorful, so invest in a few of them..-=[ See ya on the road ]=-. The game is fun, like Euro Truck Simulator 2. But there are still very frustrating things with this game :1. Speed limits change without warning, and then you get fined, then by the time you look WHY THE F you were fined, the speed limit is back up and you're not speeding anymore. For example, the limit is 55 mph, you go 50 mph, then the limit drops to 35 mph for no G DAMN reason, and there's a police car.... again.... but the speed limit goes back up at 55 mph immediately after.2. There are police cars EVERY FREAKING WHERE! Seriously, I see about 1 police car for ever 3 to 4 cars that I see on the road!3. I don't know who designed the roads, but this is not how to drive in America; ramps give you a chance to accelerate before merging.etc.In my review of Euro Truck Simulator 2, some people have commented about disabling the offences. Really? Is that how I should enjoy a game, by cheating or dumbing it down?. the best driving sim i've played so far. This game is amazing, even though there is only 5 states in the game currently. I have played Euro Truck Simulator 2, and you just don't get the same feeling as you do in American Truck.. really fun game if you like driving this is the game for you even if youre not into trucks. This sim is honestly pretty addicting. If you're familiar with the American Southwest, you'll enjoy it. Lots of detail, always something to do, and so very relaxing. Maybe I should have done better descriptions but images're really self-explanatory. Enjoy.. Critical bug in June 29 build: Added a bug this morning when I was fixing Chinese subject names. So the game crashed just after the first Aiko dialogue. So anyone who started a new game at June 29 experienced this. Fixed it thanks to Alexis Daniel who emailed me about this one. It was a small typo in the Chinese History subject name and it broke the game. Stressed and paranoid. Going for a 4 day vacation. I hope I didn't add any new bugs recently and some of old ones really fixed.. French localization: Alright, fellas.BaronVonChateau did the job. And he tried his best. He assigned Thomas Whitehead as a project manager of the game.4) @thomasbw84 was very helpful and stress-tolerant and he carefully nullified every conflict which could but thanks to him never happen. He was partnered with Gary Chen for Japanese release.5) Besides everything Gary Chen found really maze-like algorithms some annoying bugs had used. Together with Thomas they passed my vision to Shou Shiki who drew this amazing art.6) And, damn, Shou Shiki made the best possible Ringo ever ) I don't know maybe Koizumi made some insights for the characters but I didn't tell him anything )7) Chie Koizumi proofread all Japanese dialogues once again so overall Japanese localization became even better.
